During Diane’s younger days, her father was a Massachusetts Senator for 22 years and her mother was a proprietor of huge real estate business. She was able to learn firsthand about real estate closings, negotiations, etc. During her high school years, she would spend many afternoons at her mother’s real estate office. Diane found the Real Estate business to be a very rewarding in that a home purchase is someone’s largest decision and financial investment they will make in their life time.
After graduating from high school, she was fortunate to live in a college town and was accepted to a prestigious Ivy League Women’s’ College, Mount Holyoke College, and obtained a Masters Degree with high honors while working at establishing her own Real Estate Company – Bernashe Realty Inc. For undergraduate schooling, she attended the University of Massachusetts. Diane worked hard and soon owned one the largest Real Estate Firms in the area, along with being the youngest Licensed Brokers in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She also studied and obtained her Supervisors Construction License, learning all aspects of construction and became a valuable tool in helping clients point out defects and poor construction. Along with being a student and full-time broker, Diane also spent 8 years on the City Council, gaining extensive knowledge serving as Chairman of the Zoning/Building Committee and was chosen by the Mayor of the City of Chicopee, MA as the liaison between the board and the Mayor’s office. Being a career woman for all of her adult life, at the age of 33, Diane met her husband, James, and soon after had two sons; Christopher James and Alexander Pierce. Both her husband and son are Real Estate Agents, and James is also a Licensed Construction Supervisor as well.
